pictures from Grandma's house

Here they are, the few pictures we have.  We were there for 2 1/2 weeks and yet we were so stinkin' sick that I hardly got any video of anything.  Boooo.  oh well, how badly does anyone want to see pictures of and watch movie of Lyra and Parker being sick?

It was interesting to be there.  I was really glad to get some time to be with Laura.  Seriously, it has been forever.  and it was good to just enjoy one another without the many different stressful things that were getting at us.  It was also really nice to get to spend some time with Aaron and Jamie, Carter and Rex.  I can't remember the last time we were all together just hanging out.  It was so nice to have my family there with all of them.  I understand a little better why people are so desperate to get their families together.  At the risk of sounding sappy, it was pure joy to see so many of the people I dearly love together, happy and enjoying each other.
It was giddy, heady fun, and yet there was peace in seeing everyone there.

It is so fun to see Aaron and Jamie.  They really love each other and you can see them serving and working to help the other be happy and comfortable.  They are such good, kind people.  Jamie made us dinner that included magic tacos with awesome cheese sauce and salsa... mmm.  Oh, and apparently she makes 'amazing beans'  no, really.  That's what Chris said.  "Those beans are amazing."  I have never heard him say that about my cooking... come to think of it, I don't think he has really said that about anything (I love him, and his food tastes can be very specific)
I need to get that bean recipe from her.  I will do it all wrong, but I have to try anyway.  Aaron happily did the dishes and cleaned out the fridge on the fly, just because he loved Jamie.  Carter bravely held Ethan, who was happy and content with Carter (despite Carter's misgivings).  Rex and Laura patiently played with Lyra and Parker doing heaven knows what to keep them happy.  Chris went around (in deep pain from a mouth ulcer) happily filming what he could ... It was just happy.  Everyone was kind and there was no tensions or drama... just a lot of happy.  Time at Aaron's house was worth the 2 1/2 weeks of
everyone dog sick at Grandma Heaton's house.

Granted, being sick at Grandma Heaton's house is not all that rough.  Grandma and Aunt Jena watched/listened through dozens of mickey mouse club house episodes.  It was so bad Jenna started unconsciously humming the theme song to mickey mouse club house as she tended to her little boy (who, of course, caught some bugs too... sorry Wyett-sp?).  I really like Jenna.  I think we come from totally different sides of the universe, but I really like her.  I really like how conscientious she is of her boy.  I really like how she is frank.  I really like that she doesn't seem to work through a screen of complexes or like she has something she needs to prove.  She is Jenna and is completely comfortable with that.  I don't think I am quite pinning it.  Anyway, I like her.

So there you are, tonight's ramblings on the universe.  I think this is my new de facto journal.  Like anyone really reads this anyway.  and writing has gotten so slow now that I never do it except to make hasty lists.  Typing is just the lazy way.  and I am not apoligizing for it.  there you go.  sorry :).
I think in the last two days she wasn't sick, Lyra managed to drag every adult out into that snow to play with her.
